Photo Album - The Year 2001 (New York City 2001 Page 3)

In September of 2001, a group of us high-tailed it to Manhattan to do it up.  We had a blast hangin' out and attending all the events.  As much fun as that trip was though, it is obviously remembered for the fact that we were there on Sept. 11th.  I'm trying to think of things to write, describing out trip.  But nothing really is able to come out.  No matter what, the only thing I can think about when referencing that trip is what happened on that day.  Alan Jackson says it best when he sings, "Where were you when the world stopped turning..."  Well, this is where we were.  Below are pictures leading up to that historic and very much tragic day...

We're at The Late Show with David Letterman on 9/10.  We walked through all of Midtown that day.  Little did we know what would happen the next day.

We took a quick pic at the second Michael Jackson concert on that Monday night, the 10th.  Our group was scattered because tickets were so hard to get.

The more I try to come up with words for the following pictures, the more I realize that each picture is already worth a thousand.  Besides, nothing I could say could possibly do these pics or that day any justice.  It's not something I like to think about, nor is it something I like to describe.  Many people died that day, including a nice man that we met at the NYC Texas Exes game watching party three days prior.  In my opinion, this day is part, if not all, of the reason people like Austin Moffitt, Chad Martin, Michael Sullivan, Ben Tanner, and all the others are/were risking their respective lives in Iraq while bravely serving our country.  This day still stirs up a tremendous amount of emotion (and probably always will).  So I'll just let the pictures do the talking...

Standing in front of some banners and impromptu signs that were hung, and holding the special edition of the NY Times from Sept. 11th, 2001 ... the scene was chaotic that day.  The next morning (9/12), I actually saw two grown men fighting over that day's newspaper.  That experience is something we'll never ever forget.
