Photo Album - The
Year 2001 (New York City 2001 Page 2) |
| In September of 2001, a group of
us high-tailed it to Manhattan to do it up. We had a blast hangin'
out and attending all the events. As much fun as that trip was
though, it is obviously remembered for the fact that we were there on
Sept. 11th. I'm trying to think of things to write, describing out
trip. But nothing really is able to come out. No matter what,
the only thing I can think about when referencing that trip is what
happened on that day. Alan Jackson says it best when he sings,
"Where were you when the world stopped turning..." Well,
this is where we were. Below are pictures leading up to that
historic and very much tragic day... |

We all went to the US Open Men's Final to see Lleyton
Hewitt play against Pete Sampras. |
Erin got this shot outside Arthur Ashe Stadium where all
the big matches are played. It's a cool stadium. |
First it was the Women's Doubles Finals, then they... |
... busted out the American Flag and got ready for ... |
Lleyton vs. Pete. It was close at first, but then
Hewitt. |
started kicking ass, winning 7-6 (4), 6-1, 6-1.
Ouch!!! |
|

Big Pete said his words and accepted his
runner-up... |

...trophy, and waved to all the crowd in the stands. |
|

Lleyton then stepped up to the mic &
was presented.. |

..as the 2001 U.S. Open Men's Singles Champion. |
After the match we saw The Donald, before he was Mr.
"You're Fired" Trump. His hair never moved!!! |
Dude, Christie Brinkley is 50 freakin' years old (47
then) and she is STILL fuckin' smokin' ass HOT!!! |
John McEnroe ... in the flesh & up close and
personal! |
Matthew Modine was really cool to hang out with, though
he looks much older in person. Sorry Matty! |
He kinda has a Lance Armstrong-esque quality to ... |
... him. Hunter's pic didn't come out quite as
good. |
1978 Women's Singles runner-up & current ESPN
analyst Pam Shriver walks while talkin' on the phone. |
We had so much fun with this group of people. They
were all tennis fans from all different countries. |
Leave it to Gabe to get us tickets to see The View,
when Britney Spears was on Rosie at that same time. We saw William Baldwin
instead. He sucked! |
This was where the MTV Video Music Awards were in 2001
(Met Opera House). It was a great show. Can you even tell P Diddy
and Jay-Z performed right there? |
