12/31/04 (12:00 AM) -- Still Sick  [Music: "Heartland" by George Strait  I  Mood: Tired]

New Year's Eve!

Happy Birthday Juan Araiza and Kira Morgan!

I am sick right now and feel like crap.  This past week has been pretty crazy and very draining.  I have yet to find time to sit down and write, as well as respond to all the e-mails.  I probably won't have time for either until after the weekend is over.  I'm just waiting for a moment where I can actually put everything aside and concentrate on writing about these past few weeks.  I can't believe New Year's is here and the year is already over.  Where did all the time go?  Any, I am tired as crap right now so I have to get some rest.  Stay tuned though, I promise when I find the time to write, it will be well worth it.  -- Michael

12/30/04 (11:59 PM) -- Sick  [Music: "Run" by George Strait  I  Mood: Sick]

Happy Birthday Lu Hernandez!

12/29/04 (11:50 PM) -- Busy Busy Busy  [Music: "Hot In Herre" by Nelly  I  Mood: Tired]

Happy Birthday Marisa Chaves!

12/28/04 (02:30 PM) -- Tomorrow (yet again)...  [Music: "Aneurysm" by Nirvana  I  Mood: Rushed]

Damnit, just when I feel like I am gettin' ahead, I fall behind again!  Okay, really, this time I am serious!  Tomorrow I will write!  I just have a ton to do today, so I don't have time to write.  Thanks for the pictures that have been sent in so far.  Please keep sending in y'alls holiday pictures.  I hope to have the section up soon.  And I'll try to finish up e-mails later today also.  I have tons to write back to, but I'll get it done!  So much to do in such little time!

One more quick side note.  I don't advice anyone seeing Meet The Fockers at the theater!  Yeah, it was kinda funny, but I was definitely disappointed.  Do y'all remember both Ace Venturas?  You know how the first one was very original and funny as hell?  But then the second one came out (to such high expectations) and was funny also, though it basically redid the exact same jokes and scenerios as the first one?  Yeah, that is how Meet The Fockers is.  Again, there are parts that are funny ... but it is essentially a carbon copy of Meet The Parents.  The originality is gone, and the jokes are pretty much the same.  Some work, though most don't in my opinion.  Just my two cents.  I would have liked it to be better.  Anyway, gotta go so I'll talk to y'all tomorrow.  Keep those pictures comin'!  -- Michael

12/27/04 (08:30 PM) -- Tomorrow (again)...  [Music: "In Bloom" by Nirvana  I  Mood: Full]

Just finished eatin', and about to go Meet The Fockers, so I'll write tomorrow.  I will be putting together a picture collage of this year's holiday season.  If anyone has any great pictures from y'alls weekend, and especially from the snow in The C.C., by all means please e-mail them to me so they can be included!  I hope to have up the pics, as well as the whole photo album up soon.  Talk to y'all tomorrow.  -- Michael

12/26/04 (11:50 PM) -- Tomorrow...  [Music: "Vertigo" by U2  I  Mood: Tired]

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend.  I'll write more tomorrow.  -- Michael

12/25/04 (11:30 PM) -- Christmas Day!  [Music: "Holly Jolly Christmas" by Bing Crosby  I  Mood: Warm]

Merry Christmas Y'all!

12/24/04 (11:00 PM) -- A White Christmas  [Music: "White Christmas" by Bing Crosby  I  Mood: Festive]

I never thought the day would come where I would see ... a white freakin' Christmas in The C.C.!!!  It is actually snowin' in Corpus Christi, TX.  I mean it is actually snowing, like outside is white as far as the eye can see!  I have been all over and seen snow many many times in my life.  I have been in winter blizzards.  But this takes the cake.  This much snow in South Texas ... this is truly amazing!  I hope everyone is havin' a great Christmas Eve!  -- Michael

(04:00 AM) -- Football Today!  [Music: "We Will Rock You" by Queen  I  Mood: Pumped]

Christmas Eve!

Okay y'all ... today is the big game!!!  Anyone and everyone is to report to the Carroll High School field in The C.C. today for the festivities.  Carroll and King athletes from the last few years will be playin' a hard nosed game today.  The player draft starts at 12:30 PM, and kickoff is at 1:00 PM.  If you want to play, just show up.  And for those who don't want to play but want to come watch, y'all are more than welcome also!  There will be a good contingent of former Tigerettes/Royalettes and Cheerleaders present as well!  It's time to relive the glory days y'all.  The ankle is fine, and my arm is dusted off and ready to throw!  Come out and cheer us on!  -- Michael

12/23/04 (11:00 PM) -- Out!  [Music: "One" by Metallica  I  Mood: Festive]

Happy Birthday Melvin Bedford!

12/22/04 (01:00 PM) -- Ankle Reborn!  [Music: "Mr. Brightside" by The Killers  I  Mood: Relaxed]

Happy Birthday Eric Yandle!

Hey y'all.  Hope everyone is doin' well this afternoon.  I thought I would write for a bit while I am hammerin' down some lunch.  The last few days have been okay.  Yesterday I finished up some readin' and paperwork before headin' out to meet James and Robert to go sweat for a little while.  We were there against Robert's younger brother-in-law Prescott and his buddies Brian and Michael.  It was pretty fun playin' those young boys.  They are good athletes, but they couldn't keep up with the vintage moves of Robert, James, and I, haha.  We three played well and won both the games pretty handily.  (Sorry Prescott, but I told you I was going to write about it :-) ).  It feels good to still be able to get out there and beat up on some of the "prime of their lives" youngins.  Haha, seriously though, it was fun and everyone played well.

The good news though, was how well the ankle held up!  After weeks of recovery, I finally was able to get back on it a little over a week ago.  But that was Larry and I out havin' fun throwin' and runnin'.  Yesterday was the first time I actually played, in a game, actually playin' hard and stuff.  I was really surprised at how well I was able to move out there.  I was even more surprised at how it is not very sore today!  I didn't know what to expect today, in terms of how it might hurt yesterday bein' the first real day of testin' it out and all.  But yeah, it totally feels great.  That makes me really optimistic that hopefully it has, in fact recovered to full strength!

After that I met up with Robert, Janene, James, and Marcos for dinner, which was fun.  Besides an Exes thing also, not much else went on yesterday evening.  I rested up after I got home.  Today I am going to try to work on the site for a bit.  I know, it is slightly out of date in a few areas.  I am goin' to work on it though.  Also, I am going to try to e-mail everyone back today.  I have a lot to respond to, but I'll get to y'all.  Okay, so the food is done, now on to workin' on the site.  Talk to y'all tomorrow!  -- Michael

12/21/04 (01:20 AM) -- Way Tired!  [Music: "It's My Life" by No Doubt  I  Mood: Tired]

This no sleep crap is starting to catch up to me.  I need sleep y'all.  Talk to y'all later!  -- Michael

12/20/04 (12:10 AM)  -- Whataburger Rocks!  [Music: "Rock Your Body" by Justin Timberlake  I  Mood: Hungry]

Happy 1st Anniversary to Priscilla (Sendejo) & David Cardiel!

So yeah, the Cowboys just find a way to lose a damn game!  Man, I was so pissed when they lost today at Philadelphia.  The Eagles are like one of the best teams in the NFL, and Dallas had a shot to win.  They were playin' great defense, and had the lead with like 4:00 mins in the game.  If anything, it shows that they have fight in them.  But it does seem now that the season is finally over.  They need to start looking at next year.  Oh well, good luck next year Dallas!

I just got in from grabbin' a bite with my friend Coop at Whataburger.  I was hungry dude!  I had been feelin' sick all day so it felt good to get some food in my stomach.  Anyway, not much happened today.  I am going to finish eatin', and then get to some readin'.  I'll talk with y'all later!  -- Michael

12/19/04 (12:00 PM) -- Nothing to write!  [Music: "Lithium" by Nirvana  I  Mood: Relaxed]

Happy Birthday Kami Cooper!

Hey y'all.  Hope everyone is havin' a good Sunday afternoon.  I don't have much to write since yesterday.  Last night I relaxed and read for a bit before I went out and was with Larry, Prissy, and Joanna.  Pete and Edward were also there.  That was fun ... it was good to get out for a while.  When I was leaving I saw Als and Stefs too.  The night was fun.

So yeah, I really don't have much else to write.  That being the case, I am going to say that Cole is a dumbass!  Haha, maybe not really ...but yeah, she is!  I was talkin' to her yesterday and in the middle of the conversation, she readin' what I wrote yesterday and makin' fun.  And since she reads this shit everyday, I thought I would put her name in this one and say she is a dork!  So there you go dude ... you made it in the post! Jason, give me a call man!   -- Michael

12/18/04 (06:30 PM) -- Drunk Disney!  [Music: "Beautiful Soul" by Jesse McCartney  I  Mood: Hungry]

Hey y'all.  I have a quick minute to write.  The last few days have been pretty fast and furious.  I finally had some time to breathe after yesterday afternoon.  I am so tired from all the lack of sleep and driving.  I'm feelin' pretty good today though.  So I am happy about that.

Yesterday mornin' the drive in was nice, though there was a pretty bad accident that I saw.  I had lunch with Larry, read for a good while and tried to finish some stuff I still had, then went to have din-din with the padres.  That was fun.  I relaxed for a bit, and actually as going to meet some people out, but I ended up going to a movie instead.  I saw The Incredibles with McGuire.  That movie is so hilarious.  Granted I like the Disney movies, but still ... go check it out if y'all can.  And yeah, it is almost sacrilegious to show up for a Disney movie after already being loaded, haha!  We did it anyway though.  It was the late show, so it wasn't like there were any kids there!  It reminded me of the trip to Disney World back in senior year of high school when the dads wanted to go to Pleasure Island, and they couldn't leave me alone in the room, so they hijacked me to go with them.  That was such a funny night dude.  Disney World is a blast to begin with, but it is even better under the influence!

So yeah, we watched the movie and then hung out afterwards.  I just got in from throwin' with Larry and Marcos.  I love doing that so much.  Boy do I miss the old glory days!  Anyway, time to grab a bite to eat.  Talk to y'all tomorrow!  -- Michael

12/17/04 (09:45 PM)  -- Gone!  [Music: "Nobody's Home" by Avril Lavigne  I  Mood: Normal]

No time ... will write more tomorrow!  -- Michael

12/16/04 (11:55 PM) -- Time for rest!  [Music: "The Chair" by George Strait  I  Mood: Sleepy]

Happy Birthday Alison (Friedrich) Berry and Kim (Besson) Lee!

I am too tired to write or to watch my recorded shows.  I'll do both tomorrow!  -- Michael

12/15/04 (02:10 PM) -- Holy E-mail Batman!!  [Music: "Desperately" by George Strait  I  Mood: Excited]

Holy crap!  I am like (hold up my fingers) this close to being totally caught up with my e-mails!!!  That is so exciting to me.  I haven't been completely caught up with e-mailing everyone back in months!  So yeah, I have been on an e-mailing tear today.  It feels good to be almost done. If anyone has sent me an e-mail recently and hasn't received a response yet, it is coming today.  As always, I apologize that my responses aren't in more of a timely manner.  But as of this afternoon, I should be totally caught up.  I hope that lasts, though I highly doubt it, haha!

So dude, it was SO cold last night.  Don't get me wrong, I like cold weather, but it felt like it came out of nowhere.  It froze last night.  I guess now it is starting to feel like Christmas time.  That's good.  Winter in Texas can be pretty weird, as most of y'all know.  Now that is is cold, I just hope it stays like this for a while.  The whole hot one day, cold the next screws me up.  I hate that crap!

Okay, time to get back to the few e-mails I have left.  Hope everyone is well.  Talk to y'all tomorrow!  -- Michael

12/14/04 (04:00 PM) -- Beautiful Day!  [Music: "Beautiful Day" by U2  I  Mood: Confined]

Hey y'all.  Hope everyone is well today.  I feel like total crap this afternoon.  This day has gone by so freakin' slow.  But dude, as anyone been outside today?  It is such a beautiful afternoon!  I absolutely adore this weather!

So yeah, these last few days have been crazy as hell.  I have got like no sleep which totally sucks.  And I am so tired of driving also.  I guess it's all cool though; Christmas will be here soon enough.  Dang, I didn't really realize that it is actually less than two weeks away.  I should probably get some shoppin' done!  Haha!  Right now though, I say screw being in front of a computer.  This day is just to beautiful ... and it is calling my name.  Talk to y'all later!  -- Michael

12/13/04 (04:00 AM) -- zzzzzzzz!  [Music: "I Don't Wanna Be" by  Gavin DeGraw  I  Mood: SO Tired]

Screw writing right now.  I need to grad a quick hour or two of rest.  Talk to y'all later.  -- Michael

12/12/04 (07:00 PM) -- I'm A Survivor!  [Music: "Survivor" by Destiny's Child  I  Mood: Normal]

I'll write tomorrow y'all.  I am going to watch the Survivor finale.  Bye! -- Michael

12/11/04 (01:00 PM) -- Sad News  [Music: None  I  Mood: Sad]

I have some very sad news to report this morning.  Yesterday Brett Vetters' (Carroll '96) mother, Sharon, was in an accident and severely hurt.  Mrs. Vetters passed away early this morning.  I just spoke with Brett a few minutes ago, and he was being very strong for his family.  I can't imagine what it feels like to lose your mother.  Brett wanted to express his personal "Thanks" to everyone for all the thoughts and prayers that were being given on his family's behalf.  To everyone out there, please continue to do so.  In this very difficult time, any and all support sent their way would be greatly appreciated.  I'll write again once I find out when and where Mrs. Vetters' services will be held.  If y'all have any questions, don't hesitate to e-mail or call.  -- Michael

12/10/04 (04:00 PM) -- Put My Thing Down, Flip It, and Reverse It  [Music: "Work It" by Missy Elliot  I  Mood: Educational]

Greetings all.  Kinda busy, so I'll write tomorrow.  Bye!  -- Michael

12/09/04 (03:00 AM) -- Reunion Crap  [Music: "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" by Green Day  I  Mood: Tired]

Okay, this is going to be the last time I write about people helping with the reunion.  We have a good group of people who are eager to plan.  Below is an e-mail I sent out a little while ago.  It's pretty self explanatory.  Read it and follow it if you would like to volunteer.  Once we have all the responses, we will move forward from there.  Thanks in advance!  -- Michael

Hello everyone,

If you would like to be a part of the preparation, please reply to this e-mail and let me know.  No need to "Reply To All", just replying to me is fine.  There is another e-mail chain among all the current volunteers.  Those who respond to this, I'll just add you on to that list accordingly.   Since everyone resides in many different parts of the world, we are requesting that everyone please have an AOL Instant Messenger screen name so further communication can be better facilitated.  The program is free to download, and free to set up a screen name.  It takes seconds to do.  If you already use an AOL e-mail account, that will suffice.  Later, we will be holding "online" meetings to discuss things, using AOL IM.  So please visit the downloads page of the site and follow the link to the AOL page.  It is very simple, and will prove to be beneficial.

For now, that's all.  Anyone who is interested in helping to plan the reunion, please reply to this e-mail saying so, along with your above requested AOL IM screen name.  Thanks y'all!

Michael

12/07/04 (01:00 PM) -- Reunion Stuff  [Music: "Drop It Like It's Hot" by Snoop Dogg  I  Mood: Rushed]

Okay, here is the dish on the reunion stuff.  We have started to take the first few baby steps in the initial planning process.  I sent out an e-mail regarding it last week.  It was sent to everyone who has previously expressed interest.  If you did not receive anything last week, and want to help in the planning process, E-MAIL ME AND LET ME KNOW YOU WANT TO HELP.  I'll then include you in all future correspondence.

This is important.  We will have "virtual" meetings from time to time to discuss matters.  AOL Instant Messenger will be the method used.  If you already have an AIM screen name, perfect.  If you use an AOL account for e-mail, then that suffices as well.  However, if you have none of the above, PLEASE sign up, get a screen name, and download the AIM program.  It is all free, and takes only a few minutes to do.   Just click on the Downloads link on the left of this page, then click on the AOL IM icon, and it will take you to the site.  When you create a screen name, IM me and let me know what it is.  If you already have one, IM me to give me it if I don't already have it.  My screen name is: MikeUT00  (zeros, not the letter 'o').

Interesting thought: Does our proactive planning effect (or disrespect) the Class of 95?  Absolutely not!  Anyone who believes that is pretty jaded.  The way I see it is this ... they are two different events.  They are planning theirs and I wish then well.  They are more than welcome to use this site if they need it.  Whatever they send me and want posted, it is totally cool.  We (1996) are just trying to put together the best shindig we can, regardless of years prior or after.  I'm sure both reunions will turn out fine.

Okay, that's it for me today.  I got a lot to do, so I am done for writin' today.  Latertz!  -- Michael

12/06/04 (04:00 PM) -- Smelling Roses!  [Music: "Beautiful Soul" by Jesse McCartney  I  Mood: Happy]

Happy 1st Anniversary to Chad and Carey Martin!

Yeah, so I am still happy as hell that we are going to the Rose Bowl.  I can't wait for that.  It is going to be so badass.  And yes, Meeeeshigan is going to be tough, but I think we can take them to the wood shed.  That's right Chad, we will win!  lol.  What is pissing me off is all the BS crap about Texas and Cal.  Don't get me wrong, Cal deserves to be in the BCS also, especially of a team like Pitt.  But Texas deserves to go too.  And I am glad that we are going.  Cal is good, but the Pac 10 sucks.  They are bitching about missing out.  Their bitch quarterback Aaron Rogers is talkin' shit about Texas.  Fuck him!  It's not our fault they play in a shitty conference and BARELY beat teams like Oregon and Southern Miss.  Yeah, we played close with Kansas, but we also beat four, count 'em, four ranked teams this year!  They only beat one.  I felt sorry for Cal until today when I read all that crap.  Now, I hope Mike Leach and Texas Tech bends them over and gives them the 'ol "guns up" right up the pooper.  Fuck Cal and their whining; they are just riding USC's coat tails.  And as much as I hate Oklahoma, I hope they hit USC in the mouth right from the start and beat their ass (sorry Ashley and Silky).  The Pac 10 sucks.

And oh man don't even get me started on that shitty reporter for Fox Sports Matt Hayes.  He has hated on Texas for years.  I can't stand his Fox west coast bullshit.  He needs to go back to reporting on high school games, and I bet he prolly didn't even do that well!  Man, New Years can't get here soon enough!  -- Michael

12/05/04 (7:00 PM) -- Rose Bowl!  [Music: "California" by Phantom Planet  I  Mood: Excited]

Hell Yeah!!!!!  Texas is playing in the BCS, the Rose Bowl to be exact, against Michigan!  It sucks for Cal, but I am happy as hell that we made it in.  I definitely think we deserve it, no doubt.  Now we just gotta go in there and beat the shit outta Michigan.  Man, that is going to be so exciting of a game.  Mich is a good team, but we SHOULD kick their ass.  This is great for our program.  Damn though, if we could have just beat Okla-fucking-homa!!!  I'm so there!  -- Michael

12/04/04 (11:50 PM) -- BCS Mess  [Music: "Pieces of Me" by Ashlee Simpson  I  Mood: Mellow]

SOOOOOO interested to see how the BCS is going to shake down tomorrow.  Hopefully we go to the Rose Bowl!  -- Michael

12/02/04 (05:00 PM) -- Reunion information!  [Music: "Hey Ya!" by OutKast  I  Mood: Cool]

Hey y'all!  Okay, so today I sent out the first e-mail regarding information about the Carroll Class of 1996 reunion.  You received it if you have previously requested being apart of the planning process.  If you didn't receive anything, and would like to be involved, e-mail me and let me know.  Also, the Message Board thread will be used for communication also.  So you can also look there, and post information regarding being involved.  We got a lot of planning to do ... but I am very optimistic about the outcome!

The Message Board has been a little dormant recently.  Though I took time to post on it today.  I hope everyone reading decides to do the same.  It has the potential to be a great way for everyone to communicate with each other.  I look forward to reading what y'all post!

That's it for me.  I didn't get any sleep last night because I went out and worked the ankle.  It's a little sore today, but it's not that bad.  I was actually happy with how it is holding up.  It seems to be maintaining strength well.  It's just going to take a little while to build up its endurance again.  After that I came home and started to finish some research, but I got on the phone and got sidetracked.  So yeah, I didn't get much done, hence the no sleep trying to catch up.  I did well on getting back in order today.  I sent out the Reunion stuff.  I am up-to-date on responding to all the e-mails I have received.  I posted on the Message Board.  This post is a little late in the afternoon, but I got it on.  Hope all is well, talk to y'all tomorrow!  -- Michael

12/01/04 (10:30 PM) -- Hungy!  [Music: "Just Lose It" by Eminem  I  Mood: Hungry]

I just got in from testin' out the new ankle and then showered.  On to my meal.  Yeah, I know it is late.  Screw it though, I am hungry!  Talk to y'all tomorrow!  -- Michael
