03/06/04 -- Hey y'all!  How is everyone doin' this morin'?  Good I hope?  I am doin' okay.  I actually have a lot of work to finish up this mornin', so I am going to get to that in a sec.  Last night was a pretty fun Friday night, and a welcomed one at that.  It was nice to get out for a bit and relax.  I saw some good peeps.  I hope to venture out again this evening, if my energy allows me to.  I also want to go check out 'Starksy & Hutch'.  That movie looks pretty funny!  Ben & Owen are a pretty good onscreen combo!  Okay y'all, I am gonna hop in the shower, get something to eat, read the paper, and then be productive for a few hours so I can then relax in front of the tube for a few before I hopefully get ready to have some fun tonight.  Talk to y'all tomorrow!  Bye!  -- Michael

03/05/04 -- Wow!  I am freakin' tired this mornin'!  I stayed up pretty late last night because I was watching my Thursday shows, and then I decided to go hang out with some peeps for the night.  Well, that turned into to a pretty late night, so of course I am draggin' this mornin'!  Oh well, all in good times I guess, right?

So yeah, I am runnin' late as it is...so I am going to end this one right here.  I hope all y'all have a good start to the weekend!  Talk to y'all soon!  -- Michael

03/04/04 -- How are y'all doin' this mornin'?  I am motorin' along.  Surprisingly, I am not very tired this mornin'.  I was totally expecting to be because I got like jack sleep last night.  I stayed up late tryin' to finish some crap on the 'puter.  I am actually pretty energized right now.  I will probably hit that mid-afternoon lull later though.  Oh well!

So yeah, did y'all catch 'The O.C.' last night?  It was good, as usual.  I can't wait for the next episode when everyone finds out about Luke and Marissa's mom Julie doin' it!  That is going to be SO good.  This show keeps me intrigued every freakin' week!  Haha, so far I have hooked three friends on the show!  I think by next year it is going to be pretty big!

The rest of yesterday was pretty routine.  I did break away though during the afternoon to spend some time with my friend Cooper, cause she is moving to Washington today.  It was a little sad cause I won't see her for a little while.  I am gonna try to go up to visit her soon. Washington is actually a nice place to visit, whenever it isn't raining!  Man, it rains so much up there!  The Northwest is beautiful though.

Alright dudes, I gotta get a move on.  I will hopefully be adding more to the site later this week.  Keep an eye out!  -- Michael

03/03/04 -- So another congratulations goes out today.  This one is to Nik Villarreal!  Nik asked his longtime girlfriend to marry him, and the two of them are now engaged!  I am looking forward to Nik's big day!  Best wishes to you and yours buddy!

Yesterday I was pretty tired all day.  I had been feelin' sick, so I took it easy.  I did catch the movie 'Basic' though, starring John Travolta.  It pitted him onscreen again with Samuel L. Jackson, the first time since 'Pulp Fiction' which is like one of my top five favorite movies of all time!  The movie cam out last year, but I never got around to watch it at the theater.  JT is my favorite actor, so I really wanted to check it out.  Nonetheless, I finally got to see it last night, and it was pretty damn cool!  It's actually quite a roller coaster type flick, taking many twists and turns.  However, I would definitely recommend this thriller to y'all.  It's the kind of movie that takes a few times to watch to get it completely.  I need to check it out again!

Okay my peeps, that's about it for this mornin'.  I hope y'all are doin' well.  Keep visitin' the Message Board, and I'll talk to y'all soon!  -- Michael

03/02/04 -- Howdy y'all!  Happy Texas Independence Day!  Today way back in 1836 Texas established its independence from Mexico and became it's own Republic.  We are 168 years old!  Have a blast and do somethin' Texan today y'all!

So I'd like to send out a big congratulations to Richie Ramirez!  This past Friday, the 27th, Richie popped the big question to his girlfriend, Janessa Manning, and of course she happily accepted!  Congrats Richie and Janessa!  I am really happy for the both of y'all!  I hope y'all have a great engagement and even better wedding!

Hmm...let's see here...I don't have much else to write for now.  Have a great day and I'll talk to y'all again tomorrow!  -- Michael

03/01/04 -- Happy 1st Anniversary to Jason Ahuero and Alice Watson Ahuero!

Did y'all watch the Oscars last night?  Man, The Lord of The Rings: The Return of The King cleaned up!  11 for 11 is not freakin' bad.  I saw both of the first movies (The Fellowship of The Ring and The Two Towers) at the theater.  I still haven't seen The Return of The King yet.  I need to go check out the film before it leaves the theater.  My picks were all correct, though I guess the were also predictable.  I was really happy for Rene Zellweger though!  She's a UT gal!  All and All I was pretty happy with the award show.

Yeah, so speakin' of movies...I saw Mel Gibson's 'The Passion of The Christ' yesterday afternoon. And all I can say is... Wow! I give Mel Gibson a lot of credit for having the guts to make a film like this. This think could have totally tanked and backfired on his career. I personally think he took a big chance on putting this film together, and especially financing it on his own. I respect him for making a film, knowing there might be a huge backlash, and just throwing it out there to let it be. He took a chance, and it is paying off tremendously, to the tune of $117 mil in it's first five days! He is going to make a killing off this thing!

All that being said, everything you have heard about the film is pretty much true. It was very graphic, especially during the torture scene. I imagine that it will be a different experience for everyone. I saw some people in the theater completely in tears, some people were full on praying during the film, and others seemed disgusted.

Be that as it may, for me...I thought the film told a good story, and was well done. I have a pretty good feeling that 'Christ' will receive some Oscar attention this time next year, especially for Mel Gibson in the Best Directing category. He really outdid himself in this one. I recommend y'all go watch this film. However, keep an open mind while doing so. I think that is the best way to experience this movie. Any preconceived notions would only spoil your viewing experience. Let me know what y'all think!  Talk to y'all soon!  -- Michael
