08/27/03 -- Hi y'all. Time is just zooming
by. The game week is finally here. There are only 4 more days
left. I can't wait. I should have more time, as well as more to write about,
next week.
Jennifer Rodela sent me this great picture of her and Monica Buchanan from
Rebecca (Rios) Solis' wedding earlier this month. You both look great
ladies! If anyone else has any other pictures you would like to send in,
please do so. I'll post any and all.
Time is running out to join in on the game. A few of y'all
haven't signed in yet. Also, some who have (Larry, this means you!) need
to log in and make your picks. Picks need to me by Friday. Put a
little hop in your step people! -- Mike
08/23/03 -- Happy Birthday Monica Buchanan
and Ashley Thompson!
08/22/03 -- Hi everyone. I have not had much time
recently, so that is why my posts have been lacking. I will try to keep
the site more up to date. Everyone please visit this link
to vote for Texas! The London Texas Exes are trying to make their local
North American Sports Station broadcast the Longhorns more than any other
college football team this season. Currently Texas is second; let's help
get them to first!
Also, I am starting a College
Football Pick 'em contest this season, and would like everyone and anyone to
participate. It is a game where you pick the weekly winners of college
football games and earn points accordingly. Your points get tallied
throughout the season. Everyone who participates will donate an entry fee
to play. At the end of the season, the winner of the contest will win the
money. I have played in these contests before, and they are so much
fun. It makes you pay attention to the outcomes of all the games you pick,
not just of the games involving your favorite teams. I am setting up the
game through Yahoo!
College Football Pick 'em. I have put all of the important information
on a page I have devoted to the game, Mikes
2003 College Picks Game. Please read the page
and rules to take part. The more people, the more fun the game, and
also the more prize money. I hope to hear from everyone soon...especially
Jason, Hunter, Gabe, David, Dustin, Johnny, Silky, Larry, Markustz, Justin, Jonathan,
Ryan, and all others I forgot to mention. Boys (and girls too!), invite
your friends also. Like I said, the more the better! -- Mike
08/18/03 -- Texas is #4 in the Coaches Poll, and #5 in
the AP poll. 13 more days until kickoff!!!

08/09/03 -- Congratulations to Rebecca Rios on her
wedding day!
08/06/03 -- Hi everyone! I don't have much to write
about today. So far it has been a pretty busy and routine week. Here
are a few more questions people have submitted...
Q. "What's your e-mail address?"
A. My info is listed in the Contact Me
section. For reference though, it's mikecarrizales@alumni.utexas.net
Q. "Will the Cowboys win more than 5 games this
season?"
A. Yes, Parcells will whip them into a great team. Don't
be surprised if the 'boys make a push for a wild card playoff spot this season!
Q. "Did Kobe Bryant do it, and will he go to jail?"
A. It's too early to tell right now. Honestly though,
right now I am leaning toward thinking that he just might have done it...at
least that's what my gut is telling me.
08/05/03 -- Happy Three-Year Wedding Anniversary to
Priscilla (Gonzalez) and John Iden!
Okay, so people have recently asked me a few
questions. I thought it might be a good idea to answer them on the site...
Q. "How do I list my information in the Classmates
section?"
A. Right now, the way to do so is to e-mail
me your information. I haven't taken the time to code the section to where
you can actually make the post yourself. I might do that in the future,
perhaps when I have a little more free time.
Q. "Are you going to start charging us for the Classmates
thing?"
A. Though I do have costs for the site, the answer is
'no'. However, if someone sees me out and wants to be nice and buy me a
drink...I won't say no! LOL!
Q. "Do you pay for this site and/or your name as the
address?"
A. Yes, you gotta buy your domain name (if it's
available). It's not very expensive though. I also pay a small price
to have a company "host" the site on their servers. I have a
local copy on my computer, which I work on, and then upload to their
server. The alternative to this was to host it on my computer (as a
server). The problem with that was if my computer went down, or my
connection sucked, etc...the site goes down.
Q. "Who did you get to build your site, and how much did it
cost?"
A. I built the website myself. I didn't pay anyone to do
it for me. I decided to code it from scratch, meaning that I use no
graphical tools, easy builders, etc. I wanted to keep up my MIS skills.
08/04/03 -- Today has been pretty busy. I only have
a few minutes to update this afternoon. Dude, it's already August!
This year is going by so fast. I am SO ready for football season. We
are #4 in the ESPN Coaches Poll. I hope this season brings a
championship...finally!
No much else has changed recently. I saw "American
Wedding" over the weekend. It was pretty damn funny. If you
liked the first two movies, you'll love this one too. That was the extent
of my weekend festivities. Haha, yeah...it wasn't exactly the rip-roaring
kind. Okay so yeah, I gotta run. I will talk to y'all later.
bye! -- Mike
08/01/03 -- I don't have much time to write this
afternoon. I just wanted to post an update on the story I wrote about the
other day. There was an update article, mentioning Carrie, in the Caller
Times website today. Click on this link
to read. -- Mike
