03/31/03 -- Okay, so another week is among us. I am
rounding up enough energy to get through this one. I hate Mondays so much!
How 'bout them horns? The boys are in the Final Four this
weekend in New Orleans!! We are finding away to keep winning. Two
more games boys, two more games! The ladies are in the Elite Eight
tomorrow night also. Hopefully they will also keep winning! Okay,
time to shower. Have a great week everyone! -- Mike
03/28/03 -- Texas Longhorns vs. Connecticut Huskies at The
Alamodome,
San Antonio, TX @ 06:27 PM Sweet 16 Matchup! Hey, we are a
basketball school now....well, at least until football season
starts!
This week has gone by SO slow. I am glad it is finally
over. I have been sick for like the last week. I am just now
starting to feel better. My head and stomach have been hurting like
crazy. After some much needed rest this week, I should be fine tomorrow or
so, hopefully!
John Travolta's new movie, "Basic" comes out
today! Everyone needs to go watch it. I have heard mostly great
things about it. He's still my favorite actor! I hope he wins the
box office this weekend. At the very least, I hope it's better than
"Lucky Numbers" and "Battlefield Earth"! With JT and
Samuel L. Jackson together again, how can this movie miss!! Have a great
weekend everyone! -- Mike
03/26/03 -- I don't have much to report today. This
month has gone by so fast. I can't believe April is almost upon us.
Everybody keep rooting for Texas!! The men and women are both in the
"Sweet 16" of the NCAA basketball tournament. I hope we keep
winning! Okay, time for me to head out. I just wanted to write a
quick nothing on the site. I hope all is well with everyone.
Bye! -- Mike
03/25/03 -- Happy Birthday Debbie Sanchez! (my
sister)
03/24/03 -- I guess I was glad to see "Chicago"
win Best Picture last night, though I was also kinda hoping "Gangs of New
York" would get it. I liked both movies alot, but I kinda knew
"Chicago" would win because of all the buzz. Texas won this
weekend in basketball! We are just two games from the Final Four!
Next up is UConn. We'll whip 'em when they come down to San Antonio on
Friday. I hope we keep winning!
This world is pretty crazy. It's hard to believe that in
this day and age, we can literally watch the second Gulf War as it is
happening. The other night, was actually watching a battle in Umm Qasr
live on television! I couldn't believe what I was seeing. And yet, I
was so glued to me TV. I hope we win this war soon, for the Iraqi people,
and for the safety of our troops. God Bless Them! -- Mike
03/20/03 -- America is at war. I hope everyone,
regardless of how you feel on the war, is showing support for our military
troops fighting for freedom. We are witnessing history right now. I
do feel that the disarmament of Iraq is necessary. That's my bottom
line. My friends and I were in New York on 09/11/01. We saw first
hand what terrorism can be. We saw first hand what can happen when weapons
of mass destruction are in the hands of the wrong people. Our Army, Navy,
Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard are protecting our way of life so that our
Police Depts., Fire Depts., Doctors, etc. don't have to like they did on
09/11. My support is given to President Bush and our military troops. --
Mike
03/13/03 -- So how's everyone doing today? I'm
doing good I guess. My energy level is slightly coming back. This
year had gone by pretty fast. I can't believe we are in Mid-March
already. I still wish the weather would become more Spring Break-like.
It's always nice when I see someone randomly that I haven't seen
in awhile. I love hearing how other people are doing. I saw Lu
Hernandez the other day. I hadn't seen him but a few times over the last
couple of years. I was also able to meet his wife. They both are
doing great. I also saw Ava Landa last week in Houston. The wedding
party from Jason's wedding went out, and that's when I saw her the night of the
wedding. She is well also, attending school in Houston.
Okay, that's all for me this time around. It's time for me
a grab a quick shower before I head back out. I also need to pack.
Enjoy the day! -- Mike
03/11/03 -- Well, it's past 12:00 AM Monday night, so
that passes for being Tuesday, 03/11. I can't sleep, so I decided to get
up and get on the computer for a bit. I don't know why I can't sleep right
now. I am watching some crap on VH1 right now. Today was okay.
I am trying to get every ounce of rest right now. I am heading out again
this week. It will be fun though. It's funny because I get up to get
on the computer due to the fact that I can't sleep. So as I am doing so,
there is really nothing special to write about! So, instead of wasting
time being bored while trying to fall asleep, I am wasting time being bored
while sitting up typing on a computer. And, everything that I am typing
really has no point. It's not like this entry has so much
importance. In fact, this it's really straight-up pointless. Oh
well, I am a little more tired now, so I guess I accomplished something,
right? Time for me to try the sleep think again. 'Night! -- Mike
03/10/03 -- I don't have much to write today.
Things have been pretty normal over the last few days. I have a few days
of rest before the travel kicks in again this week. Rest is good!
Alright, I write more later... -- Mike
03/06/03 -- Man, I am so bummed that typical "March" weather
is not here yet. What's with all the cool and cloudy weather? I want
the heat and sun already! Isn't Spring Break right around the
corner? Oh well, I hope it comes soon enough. So does anyone have
any good Mardi Gras stories from Tuesday? I took it easy this year, and
didn't go. I partied more than enough the last two Mardi Gras to make up
for this year's absence. I had a quiet evening of much needed rest &
relaxation. I was so tired from the past week of training and travel that
a night of killing it Mardi Gras style didn't sound so attractive anymore.
Alright, time for me to sign out. So, as Edgar
says....."over"! -- Mike
03/04/03 -- So far this morning has been such crap. My two cats,
Chloe and Figarra (Fig), have some how attracted fleas recently. They
never go outdoors, so I am not quite sure how they got them. It is a real
pain in the butt. I feel so bad for them because they keep scratching
themselves. After flea collars didn't work last week, I was forced to take
them into the vet this morning. It any of y'all know my pets, then you
know how difficult Chloe can be. It took FOR-E-VER to get her into her
little travel cage. Fig is perfect; she loves to travel. They are
getting their yearly vaccinations, flea dip baths, and flea treatments.
All that is going to cost me like over $250.00 big ones! That much money just
for some damn fleas! Oh well, I guess this stuff happens. My babies
need the treatment. I am actually a dog person, but these two cats became
my sole possession through unique circumstances a few years back. They
have grown on me quite a bit. So anyway, I have to go pick them up in a
few hours. I hope they are better! I hope Chloe doesn't bite the
vet!
I added a few more picture pages to the Photo Album today. Be sure to
check those out, and leave your comments in the Guest Book.
While at Jason's wedding this weekend, I was able to catch up with what other
people are doing through the various people that I saw. A mother informed
me of Amy Herndon's wedding announcement in the Corpus Christi newspaper on
Sunday. I thought I would include it for those who might have missed
it. I hope everyone is well. Wish me luck with my cats today!
-- Mike

03/03/03 -- This weekend was great! Jason's wedding was SO exquisite.
I was very honored that he asked me to be his Best Man. I was so glad that
everything was so grand and wonderful, because that is exactly what he
deserves. Alice looked so beautiful in her dress. As I type this,
Jason and Alice are in flight to their honeymoon destination of Tahiti.
Before the wedding, Jason was so nervous. It was really neat. I
have known Jase since we were six years old. It was very special for me to
be with him on his wedding day. I know that sounds all sappy. It's
just that being the only boy as I am, having two wonderful sisters, Jason,
and a few others, is the closest thing I have to a real brother.
Everyone did such a great job. Gabe, Adrian, Mychal, and Ryan were
great groomsmen. Laura (Maid of Honor), Audrey, Bridget, Wendy, and
Deborah were such beautiful bridesmaids. I will have pictures from the
wedding up this week, as soon as I get them. Below is their announcement
from the Houston Chronicle on 3/2. Have a great day! -- Mike
