Oscar Cornell, Jr. (1976 - 2005)

"Oscar W. Cornell, Jr., age 29, departed this life on July 26, 2005 to be found among others in the Heavenly Arena.

In 1995 he graduated from W.B. Ray High School.  He was a stellar athlete and received several athletic scholarships.  He was also crowned Homecoming King.  Oscar was currently attending Texas A & M Corpus Christi.  He was employed by Sears Roebuck & Company.

He was preceded in death by grandparents and father.

He leaves to cherish his memories: loving mother, Johnnie Spears Cornell of Corpus Christi, Texas; three sisters: Patricia Ann Cornell Pendelton (Harry), St. Louis, Missouri, June Speed Wabbington (Mack), Houston, Texas, Denise Cornell Thomas (Sonny), Bishop, Texas; seven brothers: Richard Speed (Mildred), Robert Skinner, Tyrone Skinner all of Corpus Christi, Texas, Mike Cornell (Cynthia), Wardell Cornell, Anthony Cornell (Carla), all of Kingsville, Texas, Eddie Cornell, San Antonio, Texas, host of aunts, uncles, relatives and friends, special friend, Lisa Cox and daughter, Mia who were so special to him.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 29, 2005 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Unity Chapel Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary First Baptist, 2906 Carver Dr. Burial will be at Chamberlain Cemetery in Kingsville, Texas."
