Elvira Mungaray (1988 - 2004)
"Kayla Elvira Mungaray,
16, beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister and niece, went to join her
grandma Elvira, grandpa Luis, uncle Eddie, tio Billy and tio Rene in the
Home of our Lord, Saturday, November 20, 2004. Kayla will be dearly missed
by all who knew and loved her.
Kayla was born June 4, 1988 to Richard and Olga Mungaray from Corpus
Christi, Texas. Kayla attended Carroll High School and was a junior. She
was active in Junior Council and the Hispanic Club. Kayla was passionate
about playing her guitar, and recently performed for the National Honor
Society. She was also a volunteer for the Hispanic Heritage House and the
Humane Society. She was always full of Life with a tender heart, and
brought joy to the lives of everyone she met.
Kayla was a Daddy’s Girl and our baby, and was survived by her parents
Richard and Olga Mungaray; sisters, all of Corpus Christi, Texas, Kristina
Mungarary (Robbie Timmons), Kathryn Mungaray (Mark Ceballos - Fiancé),
Kamille Mungaray (Robert Espinoza, Jr. - Fiancé); step-brother Dominic
(Sally) Bustamante of Portland, Texas; grandparents Ed and Toni Mercado of
Corpus Christi, Texas; uncle Raymond and aunt Janie Braun of Canyon Lake,
Texas, uncle Tony and aunt Alicia Rodriguez of Katy, Texas, uncle Luis and
aunt Nora Montemayor of Kingsville, Texas; uncle Mando Montemayor of San
Antonio, Texas; uncle Niddy and aunt Velma Montemayor of Texas City,
Texas; uncle Alex and aunt Norma Montemayor of Alice, Texas; uncle Ignacio
and aunt Patsy Tristan of Houston, Texas; aunt Martha Flores of Corpus
Christi, Texas; nephews, all of Corpus Christi, Texas, John Richard
Tanguma, Robert Espinoza, III and Jason Dylan Martin, and numerous
cousins.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Alvarez, Justin Avila, Daniel Contreras, Alex
Montemayor, Ryan Ragsdale and Andrew Sandoval.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, November
22, 2004 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited that
same evening at 7:00 p.m. A second visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday,
November 23, 2004 at Seaside Funeral Home.
Family will receive friends at the church by 12:00 p.m. for a Funeral Mass
at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at
1:00 p.m.
Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park."
